two new toys

This week we got two new "playthings"... not really, but they are fun... one was a Scion xB to replace Jonathan's aging (1994!) Honda Civic, and the other was a new lens... a 50mm f1.8. It is a "fixed" lens, which means there is no zooming in or out out, we have to use our feet! The 1.8 means a couple of things... it will be great in low light situations, and it has a very shallow "depth of field", which basically means sharp in one spot, and rapidly getting softer from there.

Candice and Jonathan

It was a glorious day on Saturday in Reidsville at the Belmont Estate for Candice and Jonathan's nuptials. We had a great time, and took a record-breaking amount of images... over 1800! Here are a few of our favorites, click on any of them to enlarge...

Today is Jonathan's mom's birthday! She and Dad were up for a visit recently... a few highlights:

Sunday found us at the O.Henry Hotel once again, a favorite wedding destination for us. Not only is it one of the classiest places in town, it's only 5 minutes from our house! Don't get us wrong, we love travelling for weddings, but staying close to home is nice too!

Sarah asked if they would be on the blog... of course they will! She wondered, because none of her bridal session made it up... well, we didn't want to spoil the surprise for Danny, now did we?

Saturday we had the pleasure of meeting up with Amber and Nick again, this time for their wedding. The ceremony was at Friendly Avenue Baptist, and the reception was at The Marriott in Downtown Greensboro.
