two new toys

This week we got two new "playthings"... not really, but they are fun... one was a Scion xB to replace Jonathan's aging (1994!) Honda Civic, and the other was a new lens... a 50mm f1.8. It is a "fixed" lens, which means there is no zooming in or out out, we have to use our feet! The 1.8 means a couple of things... it will be great in low light situations, and it has a very shallow "depth of field", which basically means sharp in one spot, and rapidly getting softer from there.
