A New Bern military wedding: Martha & Michael

Jonathan and Stephen had a blast with Martha and Michael on their wedding day! We didn't get a chance to meet them before the wedding, as they planned the whole thing from where they were stationed... in Afghanistan! Isn't Martha about the prettiest Marine you've ever seen? But we hit it off right away, and had the best time photographing them both. The day before the wedding, the skies had opened up with a torrential downpour, and the forecast didn't look good. There must have been some hard prayin' going on, because on the wedding day, we had only literally about 5 seconds of rain (that's good luck, right?) and beautiful temperatures. Downtown New Bern was charming as always, complete with overcast skies, and a trek through Tryon Palace gave us a lot of photo ops! The wedding was full of emotion, and the reception full of fun and... moustaches! Debbie from Something Special kept everything running perfectly at Persimmons. Take a look at a few of our favorites!

The girls at Hot Locks rocked out the hair and make up...

Martha sported not one but two fabulous dresses for the big day...

Thank you...

Pretty petals from Avalon Event Floral...

is this a recruiting poster shot or what?

we love first looks...

and Martha was pretty excited about it too...

If you ever have the chance to visit Tryon Palace, don't miss it. And if you're with a beautiful bride and groom, all the better!

remember those 5 seconds of rain? Martha was prepared. We never need that umbrella again.

Richard Lawton kept the party going all night...

Fun stuff from Mrs. Vingerber's Sweets

thanks guys!
