Belmont Estate wedding photography: Melissa & Marty

Remember that horrific tornadic storm a couple of weeks ago? Well, Melissa and Marty were hoping to have an outdoor wedding at the beautiful Belmont Estate, when the weather rolled in. These two took it all in stride, remembering that no matter what happened, they were still getting to marry each other that day. The storm was a doozy, though, and just about every curve ball that could have been thrown, was. Belmont staff scrambled to set up the wedding in their unique, third floor ballroom (something that, quite frankly, NEVER happens) and all the guests trekked up the three flights of stairs to be part of the event. Fortunately, the power in Reidsville held on just long enough, and went out during the recessional. But we can't stress to you how great Marty and Melissa were about this. Most couples would have been beside themselves, and understandably so, but our newlyweds grinned and made the most of being surrounded by those they love most, counting their blessings along the way. Here are some of the highlights... be sure to leave the couple some love in the comment section, too. They deserve it!

Keepin' it light...

we just love the story this one tells...

pretty petals...

the bride's bouquet...

little toys for little dudes...
Uh-oh!

the ceremony...

the skies cleared, but Marty notices it is awfully windy...

and the veil flies off...

it was just the laugh they all needed...

details...

camera shy? not really...

the happy pair...

all you really need for a first dance is a car radio and a dance partner...

here's that pesky veil again...

you would never know the terrible weather was just a little earlier...

one of the flower girls is a photographer in training!

...and they're off! We wish you sunny skies, guys!
