Today is a great day. Great weather, and my parents are en route from Florida for a visit. In the meantime, we went to the farmer's market, which is directly across the street from the stadium where our local Single A baseball team used to play their games. The Greensboro Grasshoppers (né Bats) have moved into fancier digs downtown, but the old stadium remains. You know it's old when it is named after the FIRST World War.
It doesn't get a lot of use these days, but it still has tons of charm. I hear that the city wants to put it on the National Register of Historic Places, but we will see.
Looking forward to tomorrow — opening day!

Fantasyland
This was the scene Sunday in the war room (aka the dining room table) for my league's annual fantasy baseball draft. Last year my team finished next to last, and I am afraid this year may be worse. I am a big baseball fan, but my knowledge of all the players would beg to differ. Anyway, I spent most of Saturday cramming like I was in final exams and fretting over how much the other owners in my league would laugh at my picks. Some of the players on my team: Joe Mauer, Dan Uggla, Gary Matthews, Jason Giambi, Nomar Garciaparra, and Huston Street. You'll notice no Albert Pujols or Ryan Howard. Wish me luck. I'll need it.

The acoustic motorbike
It was just too nice outside to stay inside all day, and since I had a couple of packages to deliver, I decided to bike over to the local Post Office. I have a Specialized Rockhopper that's about 15 years old, but the guys over at Re:cycles on Spring Garden Street near UNCG tuned up my bike a few months ago, and it's still going strong. So though it may look like it wouldn't move, it gets the job done.

It's not easy being green.. but it's worth it!
As a fan of both the environment and sports, I read with interest a recent article in Sports Illustrated that outlined how both can coexist and what we can do to help out. Take a moment to read this article to see what the world of sports is doing to raise awareness about the world we live in.
I encourage everyone to remember the 5 R's: Reject, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Return to the earth
• Reject over-packaged items and inefficient vehicles.
• Reduce the amount of energy you use. Walk or bicycle if you can, it will cut down on car emissions, and you'll get some exercise!
• Reuse as much as you can. i.e, have hand towels at the kitchen sink instead of paper towels.
• Recycle paper, aluminum, plastic, glass, etc. The more we recycle, the less that goes in a landfill.
• Return to the earth: If you have the means, compost your table scraps, grass clippings, and other organic materials. You'll get some great soil out of it, and your garbage can won't smell!

Spring 'do
Renee came home today sportin' a sassy new 'do, just in time for spring. Doesn't she look great? Renee has been shooting weddings as well, and is my "second shooter" for at least 10 more this year. I use the term "second" only as a title, because she is a first-rate photographer in her own right. Great compositions, a superb eye for detail, and creative! Oh, and by the way, her new style comes compliments of Eileen at Leon's Tate Street location.

Joyce and Inor
Wedding clients Joyce and Inor were recently selected to have their wedding featured in TriadWeddings magazine—and rightfully so! They are an absolutely gorgeous couple, and so nice. It was truly a pleasure working with them and their large families. The wedding was held at Calvary Church in Greensboro, and the reception was at the O. Henry Hotel. Congrats!

TriadLiving Spring issue
I had the pleasure of capturing the current issue of TriadLiving Magazine's cover. The publisher and I took a trip out to Cash Lovell Stables in Winston-Salem. Wow, what a great place. The staff was super friendly and the kids were really photogenic. I look forward to getting back out there and taking a lesson!
