It seems like it was only yesterday that we were photographing Carolyn and Justin's wedding. Over the last few years, we've kept in touch and were delighted to hear about the newest addition to the clan - Landon! And here is the main man, himself! Landon celebrated his first birthday in October and we are so happy that they moved back to the south so we could get our hands (and cameras) on him! Here is a sample from the birthday keepsake album we designed for them. I can tell you from experience that once you have a baby, some of the personal projects you intended to complete (like making a photo album of birthday party pictures) just don't get done. We really love photographing birthday parties, and the images are preserved best in a book. So here's the sample. Enjoy!

Regency Room Wedding Photography: Nikki & Alex

Our first New Year's Eve wedding was all we'd hoped it would be. Delightful bride and groom, super cool vibe and a GREAT party. The Regency Room never looked better! What more could anyone want? We had an absolute blast... and it was especially fun to see all the guests decked out in their holiday finery (kazoos, noisemakers, and festive hats, included). A Willow Oaks Plantation wedding - Annie and Dean, part one

In a bit of a departure for us, we were not able to meet up with either Annie or Dean until the day of their California-chic-meets-rockabilly-DIY wedding. But we were greeted with the biggest smiles, like we were old friends! Annie and Dean enjoyed the whole day together, and were so sweet together. They live in L.A., but came back to Annie's home state for their NC wedding at Eden's Willow Oaks Plantation and, as Annie called her, "super planner" Leigh Pearce kept things running smoothly. Everything worked out great, including the ominous clouds deciding to keep clear of the big event. We have to admit it: We did a little happy dance when we booked Mallory and Brent's Childress Vineyard wedding last year. They couldn't be nicer people and their story begins with being high school sweethearts! Swoon! Mallory and Brent have been together for 8 years. They are soooo sweet together, just so in love. We have gotten to know them over the past year, shooting their engagement and Mallory's bridal and boudoir sessions. We are happy to say that it has been an absolute pleasure seeing them over the year. How sweet is Mallory? She signs her emails with "hugs" - we love it!

And what a great family too... in addition to photographing Jessica's bridal session with them, we ran into each other at the park and out shopping. We agree with Jessica's mom... it's like we are family now! :-) And these guys know how to have fun! Jessica and John were pretty much on the dance floor the whole night, cutting it up! A little about the ISPWP:
The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers is an organization of the best wedding photographers in the world. It was created by professional photographers to raise the standards of the wedding photography profession. When you hire an ISPWP member, you can be sure they have passed a rigorous application process and are recognized by their peers to be at the top of their field.

The ISPWP maintains high standards for membership based on experience, talent, integrity, professionalism and references:

Experience: Members must have photographed a minimum of 50 weddings as the primary in-charge photographer. Weddings shot as a tag-along, second, or backup photographer do not count. This is the minimum experience requirement, many ISPWP members have shot hundreds of weddings.

Talent: Members must submit a website/blog/portfolio for review by a panel of ISPWP members. Online portfolio galleries must demonstrate artistic and technical ability. The portfolio must display a minimum of three galleries of complete weddings. Galleries that only display “selected favorites” from multiple weddings will be rejected.

Integrity: Members must have no outstanding complaints with consumer protection organizations such as the Better Business Bureau.

Professionalism: Members must operate in accordance with the ISPWP Code of Conduct. This protects both the photographer and the client, and provides assurance to the client they are dealing with a professional who takes their business seriously.

References: Members must submit 2 client references, and 2 peer photographer references, or be sponsored by an existing ISPWP member.

The fun with Sarah and Sean continued at the beautiful Starmount Forest Country Club. This crowd was amazing! They kept dancing well into the night (and we are sure the party continued downtown), and we had plenty of opportunities for fun shots. The bridal party was decked out in dresses from Priscilla's of Boston, while Sean and the Groomsmen rocked out teal kicks from Converse. Everything was perfect.... thanks guys!

Maine wedding photography - Christine and Bill, part 1

Wow, what a great weekend! Jonathan flew up to Maine to photograph Christine and Bill's big weekend in the woods. Bill's house is right on cool Long Lake in Harrison, Maine... definitely a welcome change from the sweltering Carolina heat. We had a great time skiing, eating lobsters, and just enjoying each other's company... stay tuned for part two, coming soon!

Proximity Hotel Wedding: Ashlyn & Craig

What a wonderful day! It started out nice and early at 7am (although Ashlyn confessed she had been up since 4am... so excited!) at Salon Medusa in downtown Greensboro. To give you an idea of how sweet this family is, Jonathan was served coffee and a breakfast sandwich (from our fav, Smith Stret Diner) upon arrival! Friendly Avenue Baptist church was the site of the touching vows, and then we all headed to the fabulous Proximity Hotel for the mid-afternoon party. MTP DJ Productions kept the dance floor swinging after a tasty lunch and the cake from Delicious was... well, delicious!

Bethany and Eliu picked a great day to get married. The weather was pretty darn nice, even if a bit warm. And they deserved every ray of sunshine sent their way...Bethany and Eliu are a super fun couple. They laugh easily, don't take themselves too seriously, and just keep things light in general. Forsyth Woman... Engaged! Cover shoot!

A few months ago we were excited to be asked to photograph the cover of the Triad's newest wedding publication: Forsyth Woman Engaged!. We went out to Winston-Salem to play at the Triad's latest event venue, WinMock at Kinderton, which held it's first wedding this past weekend!
